If you are of engineering background and your skills assessment requires you to submit a competency demonstration report to Engineer's Australia, and you don't know how to start. Perhaps you have started your preparation and may need someone with an experience to review your work and give recommendations on how to further improve it, then this might just be an opportunity for you.

First Skill Select Invitation for the month of August

Again, it's been a while since my last post.  I've been busy with all the planning about moving here in Australia so I missed a few updates for everyone.

In my previous post, I mentioned that skill select is a benefit for electronics engineers since our occupation didn't make it to top 5 last year and at the same time due to a large number of lodgement from software related occupations.  However,
the recent report about the first batch of invitations for the month of August showed that there have only been 90 permanent resident applicants who received an invitation and most of their point scores were between 75 to 85 points.  To obtain such points, I reckon, you must have high IELTS score, an Australian Tertiary education, a PhD, or an Australian Skilled Work experience.  85 points is a high mark, 75 is still a high mark.  When I lodged my VISA application, I only had 65 points, just enough to make it to the passing mark.

If my understanding serves me right, the SkillSelect is giving more preference to applicants with the highest marks first then accept applications to applications with lower point scores to reach the monthly or yearly allocation.

Read more about the recent SkillSelect Invitations here and let me know what you think.
